How Kundo got translations off the release path
Releases used to wait days on translations. Now they happen automatically, across nine languages, as part of how the team ships, without sacrificing quality.

The challenge
Kundo is a Swedish customer service platform combining ticket handling and self-service, used by 500+ organizations. Their product runs across several repos and is translated from Swedish into eight more languages.
The translation flow had grown over more than a decade: a TMS built for project management, an agency doing the work, strings pushed by CLI, translations ordered over email. A reasonable setup that had quietly turned into a lot of steps, and steps are where releases wait.
“Translations have always caused friction at Kundo. It costs money, sometimes things go wrong, it's easy to miss something, and above all, it takes time. Sometimes it delays our releases by several days just to wait for translations.”
Translations, in the pull request
We set up Localhero across the repos, imported the existing translations, and added the GitHub Action. After that, every pull request gets translated automatically. New and changed strings are picked up, translated, and added straight to the PR, with a quality check on the result.
What changed
Releases stay on track
Translations happen automatically as PRs are created, so they're always up to date and never block a deploy. The thing that used to cost days now just happens.
Quality stays in your hands
AI does the first pass; it's easy to review and adjust. New source strings get checked as they're added.
The language stays consistent
A style guide and glossary keep terms and tone the same across every language and repo, instead of drifting.
Cost takes care of itself
Less manual coordination, and no translation tooling to build or maintain.
Stop waiting for translations
Automatic translations on every pull request, with the quality and consistency a product team needs. No agency, nothing homegrown to maintain.
